Polymorphonuclear leukocytes: possible mechanism of accumulation in psoriasis.
نویسندگان
چکیده
Extracts of involved and uninvolved skin from nine patients with untreated psoriasis were studied for chemotactic activity. Psoriatic plaque contains increased amounts of a complement-dependent chemotactic factor that is inhibited by diisopropyl fluorophosphate. This factor may be human skin serine proteinase.

The intraepidermal penetration of polymorphonuclear leukocytes is anearly event in the pathogenesis of psoriasis. In the present study wequantified these cells in biopsies from lesionai epidermis of chronicstable plaque psoriasis. In this phase intraepidermal penetration ofpolymorphonuclear leukocytes was shown in 41% of the lesions. Themicropustules of Kogoj were seen in 10...

The polymorphonuclear leucocyte (PMN) response to a chemotactic or chemokinetic stimulus is enhanced in men with ankylosing spondylitis (AS). This effect does not parallel the severity of disease activity or the size of the acute phase response, and it is independent of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug treatment. Polymorph function is normal in HLA-B27 positive brothers of probands with AS ...

The chemotactic activity of normal human polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMNs) confronted with heat inactivated sera from patients with psoriasis as well as various chronic proliferative diseases was determined using modified Boyden chambers. By the addition of phorbol myristate acetate (PMA) at a concentration of 1 ng/ml the chemoattractant activities of the sera were greatly potentiated. Howeve...

Polymorphonuclear leukocyte (PMNL) infiltration is an important characteristic in psoriatic lesions. Elevated concentrations of the chemoattractant eicosanoid leukotriene B4 (LTB4) are present in psoriatic skin. Its chemotactic activity is mediated via high affinity receptors on PMNL. The goal of our work was to ascertain whether PMNL infiltration in psoriasis can be accounted for by functional...

Impetigo herpetiformis (IH) is a rare pustular dermatosis with unknown aetiology, typically occurring during pregnancy. Based upon a similar clinical and histological presentation, i.e. spongiform accumulation of polymorphonuclear leucocytes in the stratum corneum, several authors consider IH as a variant of generalized pustular psoriasis (GPP), while others state that IH is a separate entity. ...
